    Filet aqua screen
A sustainable mechanical solution against invasive aquatic plants

Aquascreen is a professional benthic barrier designed to eliminate invasive aquatic plants by blocking light, without the use of chemical treatments.
Placed directly on the bottom of the water body, it blocks photosynthesis while preserving the biological balance of the sediments.
Thanks to its breathable micro-perforated mesh, the Aquascreen allows for water and gas exchange, unlike traditional waterproof tarps.

An effective, sustainable, and ecosystem-friendly method.

    The 5 Key Benefits
    of Aquascreen

    • Effective Blocking of Photosynthesis
The density of the mesh blocks the light needed for plant growth, causing them to gradually wither.

    • ’s breathable bottom layer By allowing water and gases to pass through, Aquascreen prevents sediment anoxia, reduces fermentation, and eliminates unpleasant odors.
    • Exceptional durability
Made of braided fiberglass with a heavy-duty PVC coating, the barrier is rot-proof, tear-resistant, and designed to last an estimated 10 years.
    • Reusable and cost-effective
Once the area has been treated, the net can be moved and used in other areas, reducing the overall cost of vegetation management.
    • Visual discretion
Its gray color blends naturally with the sediment, ensuring it blends in discreetly with the bottom of the water body.

    Aquascreen Roll Size

    • Width: 2.13 m
    • Length: 30.48 m
    • Total area: approximately 65 square meters

    Technical principle: controlled dual action

A standard waterproof liner creates an anoxic environment that promotes fermentation, the release of toxic gases, and sediment degradation.
The Aquascreen was designed to prevent these undesirable effects.

    Dual action of the mesh:

    • Light-blocking action
The mesh blocks light and UV rays. Without photosynthesis, the plants naturally wither away within a few weeks.
    • Breathable sediment action
The mesh’s permeability allows benthic microfauna to continue their decomposition activity under healthy conditions, without fermentation.

The result: a gradual, controlled removal that is safe for the ecosystem.

    Recommended Installation Guide

The Aquascreen is installed directly on the bottom of the pond.

    Recommended procedure:

      1. Unroll the net from the shore or from a boat.
      2. Essential ballasting: Secure the mesh to the bottom using rocks, sandbags, or metal bars, spaced 1 to 2 meters apart.
      3. Recommended exposure time:
        • Tender plants: 3 to 4 weeks
        • Hardy plants (e.g., water lilies): 8 weeks or more
      4. Once the vegetation has been removed, move the net to a new area to be treated.

    Uses and target areas

The Aquascreen is particularly well-suited for:

    • the creation of shipping lanes,
    • making swimming areas safe,
    • the removal of pontoons and fishing stations,
    • protecting water intakes and strainers from clogging caused by vegetation.

For large areas (public beaches, harbors, municipal water bodies, golf courses) or projects requiring multiple rolls with precise layout plans, TASO offers customized recommendations.
